    This is one practitioner's personal selection of books/videos/texts that have helped him but he is very happy to consider other books etc. for inclusion on this list.  Just email feedback if you want to suggest something or mention it in a comment.  The philosophy of this page is to ignore any book that may have a bit of occult gee-whizzery but does not say you have to change inside.  Whereas any book that really has something to say about the changes we all have to make in ourselves is what I want to see on this list.  Because to actually enact the changes we need to make in ourselves is the main issue for all of us.

    Reading these books is not a substitute for stalking yourself or recapitulation but they are all useful aids in that process as they point out things you may not otherwise have noticed and may give a useful different perspective.

    Often the spritual agenda within these books etc. is about making progress within the wheel of birth, death and afterlife. Yet progress for many of us starts with transforming the tonal and it is in that aspect that our agendas match that of these books etc. Many of us are full of illusions about ourselves and these books can dispel some of these illusions.

    Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth has the best analysis of the ego to be found in literature. Essential reading for us all.

    tell you how the law of attraction works and how every single little thought and feeling influences everything that happens in your life. They are written for everyman, in simple terms. But they help you become conscious of all these little thoughts and feelings.

    This book The School for Gods by Stefano E. D'Anna shows what transforming the tonal can achieve and how difficult it is. D'Anna's teacher is the only person in literature with the same ruthlessness, cunning, patience and sweetness as don Juan himself. A great book for anyone trying to change.
